There a variety of fun activities that teachers and schools during Bike to School Week. Here are a few additional resources for children and bicycle safety.
- An activity students can do for B2S is this PDF that asks to identify how the child is riding improperly and how she should be riding.
- Here is an additional handout on riding safely on the road. This is specifically geared to children. Here is another handout on how to get to school safely.
- Here is an additional handout on kids and bicycle safety.
- Here is a fun coloring activity that provides bike rules for kids.
- Here is a fun word recognition activity for younger children.
- Here is a handout titled Bicyclists Make Smart Choices and it provides pictures with their rules to help children.
- Here is a drawing and worksheet for children on the dangers of bike riding and how to avoid them.
- Here is a packet entitled Bicycle Safety Activity Kit. This kit has a lot of material, activities and games for parents, teachers and students.
- The Safe Routes Program has several PDF files that include tips on schools/organizations can create programs (i.e. - B2S) for each school. There is some liability information for the schools and for the organization trying to work with the schools.
