Washoe
County Obesity Coalition
The Washoe County Obesity Coalition envisions a future of healthy
communities in Washoe County, which is achieved through the adoption
and maintenance of healthy lifestyles. We will strive to create and
encourage:
- Active citizens
- Dynamic neighborhoods
- Equal access to healthy food and physical activity choices
- A culture which promotes health behavior in all community members.

Washoe County Chronic Disease Coalition
The WCCD Coalition unifies existing chronic disease agencies and alliances
in Washoe County into one collaborative body. It provides opportunities
for networking through a coalition structure, thereby increasing collaboration
between agencies and facilitating the exchange of resources. Please

on the second Thursday of each month from 9:00 am – 10:30 am.

Washoe County Tobacco Prevention Coalition
We are a group of dedicated organizations and community members working
together to address the most pressing issues related to tobacco in northern
Nevada. Our website promotes smoke free restaurants, business, and locations
in Washoe County.

The Tobacco Industry is all over the 18-24 year old scene, spending
millions trying to get us to smoke. We stop the tobacco industry from
taking advantage of us by broadcasting their lies through the streets.
We inform each other of the unspoken truth to become a stronger force
against corporate tobacco. We are masses against manipulation we are
ATTRACT.

This statewide group is dedicated to reducing the impact tobacco has
on all Nevadans through education, collaboration, and policy development.

Washoe County Latino Health Collaborative
The Washoe County Latino Health Collaborative (WCLHC) is a monthly
gathering of leaders and stakeholders who work on or are interested
in Latino health issues. We discuss the emerging health issues in the
local Latino community, projects that individuals are working on to
better the health of the Latino community, and means of collaboration
to ensure Latino health needs are being met. In addition, WCLHC seeks
to assess and document the current state of health in the Latino community
and work towards establishing Latino health priorities in relation to
identified unmet needs. This group provides a forum for information
sharing and collaboration within the Washoe County Latino community.
